The Titans (5-3) exploded for four 3-pointers and a 14-0 lead in the first three minutes as the Utes (1-7) struggled to reach the Fullerton perimeter shooters on defensive rotations.

Utah couldn't trim the lead to single digits in the second half as the Titans shot 57 percent from the field and outrebounded them 45-18, handing the Utes their worst home loss since the Jon M. Huntsman Center opened in 1969.

Bob Burton won the 139th game of his nine-year tenure as head coach of the Titans, tying with Alex Omalev (139-176 from 1960-1972).

The Utes played without senior guard Josh Watkins, the team's leading scorer who was suspended indefinitely on Monday for conduct detrimental to the team.
