The Salt Lake City Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis takes place this Saturday, December 1, at Trolley Square with registration opening at 8 a.m. The race follows a course through the city and concludes in Liberty Park. The cost to participate is $30 for individuals. You can register by visiting slcjinglebellrun.org.

The Jingle Bell Run/Walk is the Arthritis Foundation's nationwide holiday 5K run and walk event to raise both awareness and funds to fight arthritis. In case you didn't know arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States. It affects over 50 million Americans, including 300,000 children, and costs the U.S. $128 billion dollars annually. In Utah, almost 22 percent of adults live with arthritis including 3,000 kids and teens.

The Jingle Bell Run/Walk is just one more way The Arthritis Foundation is fighting back. Last year alone it raised $13 million dollars. This year's event honors Holly Brough, who has been living with rheumatoid arthritis since she was diagnosed at the age of 19. She's never let arthritis hold her back from living her life as a full-time mom with three kids.

Events like the Jingle Bell Run/Walk are critical in helping The Arthritis Foundation develop important corporate partnerships that help fund local research; provide professional and public education programs for those affected by the condition; and create daily exercise and strengthening programs throughout the Salt Lake Valley for people living with arthritis.

Support this important cause by signing up for the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. It will be held this Saturday at Trolley Square with registration starting at 8 a.m. For more information or to register, visit slcjinglebellrun.org.
