SALT LAKE CITY — Bear River put up 62 points in the win over Tooele last Friday night. Bears quarterback JarDee Nessen accounted for most of those 62 points.

Nessen threw himself into the state high school football record book thanks to these numbers: 26 of 34 for 492 yards and seven touchdowns. His 492 passing yards is the ninth best passing yardage for one game in state history. His seven touchdowns ranks him second best in the record book.

Nessen also had one rushing touchdown, so his total of eight touchdowns are the third most in state history. Just in case you're wondering, the record for most touchdowns in one game is 10; it happened twice in Utah. First in 1919 and then again in 2009.
