SALT LAKE CITY — Bill Murray, best known for his role as Carl Spackler in ‘Caddyshack', or maybe Dr. Peter Venkman of ‘Ghostbusters', or maybe Phil Connors from ‘Groundhog Day', or maybe the voice of ‘Garfield the Cat', or it might be Bob Wiley from ‘What about Bob?', was at Spring Mobile Ball Park Thursday to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Salt Lake Trappers winning 29 in a row in 1987.
That is an American professional baseball record that still stands today.
So why was Murray a part of the party? He was co-owner of the Trappers when they won 29 in a row from June-July 1987.
