ELON, N.C. (AP) — William Adala Moto scored 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Towson hold on to beat Elon 81-77 on Saturday night.

A John Davis jumper gave Towson (17-8, 8-4 CAA) a 58-48 lead with 13:50 left in the game. But the Phoenix fought back, taking a 71-70 lead on a Brian Dawkins jumper with 5:32 to play.

However a Timajh Parker-Rivera layup and an Adala Moto jumper on back-to-back possession regained the lead for the Tigers, this time for good.

Dmitri Thompson made a layup for Elon (14-11, 5-7) which cut it back to 79-77, but Eddie Keith II hit two at the line to put it away.

Mike Morsell had 15 points and eight rebounds and Parker-Rivera added 13 points and seven boards for Towson. The Tigers have won three of four.

Thompson led Elon with 21 points. Dainan Swoope had 10.
