BERLIN (AP) — Police say a man has sustained life-threatening injuries after setting himself alight outside the Libyan Embassy in Berlin.
Police spokesman Stefan Redlich said the man, who apparently had a private dispute with the embassy, appeared there Friday morning with a bottle of lamp oil. Security staff called police; the man then poured oil over himself and set himself ablaze.
Embassy security staff and police officers arriving at the scene swiftly put out the fire. Redlich says the man is in his mid-20s and initial investigations suggest that he comes from Tunisia.
