BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho county grand jury has indicted a man on charges of murder, kidnapping and rape in the killing of an 18-year-old Boise woman.
KTVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2rVsYbh ) 61-year-old Bruce Marchant was indicted Tuesday. His lawyer David Smethers with the Ada County Public Defender's office said he hadn't seen the indictment and declined to comment.
Boise State University student Sierra Bush was reported missing last September. Her body was found south of Idaho City, about 40 miles (64.37 kilometers) northwest of Boise, in late October.
The Boise county coroner said Bush died from asphyxiation.
Marchant was arrested in New York City last December and was extradited from New York to Idaho in April.
Police say Marchant had been a tenant of Bush's father.
Marchant is scheduled to appear in court June 30.
