MONROE, Utah (AP) — Court documents in Utah say a neglected baby died of dehydration while living with her father in filthy conditions.
KSL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2bVFlLP ) that a 37-year-old Monroe man is charged with child abuse homicide in the June 7 death of his daughter. She died one day before her first birthday.
Charging documents say the man stopped giving the baby the fluids and nutrition she needed to survive and allowed the house to heat up to more than 90 degrees.
Court documents say the father called 911 and said he found his daughter in her crib not breathing. Police say the baby was very dirty, smelled of urine and feces, and was wearing a soiled diaper with severe diaper rash.
She was taken to the hospital but could not be revived.
