PAYSON, Utah (AP) — Authorities in Utah say they're not crying over spilt milk, but they are blaming road rage for a weekend crash involving a tractor-trailer hauling 65,000 gallons of milk.
The Utah Highway Patrol says a semitrailer hauling the milk was driving too closely behind an SUV Sunday morning on Interstate 15 in Payson, Utah, when the SUV hit its breaks.
Trooper Lawrence Hopper says the semi then veered left and right and lost control, rolling into the median. The tanker separated and rolled on its side.
Hopper told The Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/2aGfaG8) that the milk was declared a loss.
"You can't cry over spilt milk, even 65,000 gallons of milk," Hopper said.
The semitrailer driver says the SUV purposely slammed on its breaks to retaliate for the tailgating, but the other driver denies that.
