MILFORD, Del. (AP) — Police say a man skipped out on his bill at a pizza restaurant in Delaware then tried to run over a restaurant worker who tried to talk to him about it.

News outlets quote Milford police as saying 52-year-old Jeffrey Hatch ate and drank at a Grotto Pizza restaurant in May, but refused to pay his bill and walked out with leftovers in a box.

Sgt. Dwight Young says an employee followed Hatch to talk to him, but Hatch sped toward him with his vehicle, forcing the worker to jump out of the way.

Police say Hatch was arrested earlier this month. The charges against him include aggravated menacing, reckless endangering, and theft of services under $1,000. He was released after posting bail. A telephone number listed for Hatch rang busy Monday afternoon.
