SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A wildfire in Antelope Island State Park has nearly doubled in size.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2a9kWlE ) that crews were battling a wildfire that had grown to 20 square miles Saturday evening.
Officials say the fire is at 35 percent containment.
It came within a half-mile of Fielding Garr Ranch but the property is no longer in danger. The 168-year-old ranch and is the oldest Anglo-built structure in Utah still on its original foundation, a Utah State Parks website says.
Officials have canceled weekend Pioneer Day festivities inside the park, the Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/2a8I1Fg).
Besides ground crews, two single-engine planes and a helicopter have also been assisting.
Fire officials say the lightning-caused wildfire began Thursday night but wasn't reported until Friday evening.
