WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — West Valley City police say a skateboarder was fatally shot after a road-rage argument.

The incident happened at 2 p.m. Saturday near 5600 W 3500 S.

According to investigators, 24-year-old Aaron Pierce was riding in the front seat of a vehicle.

Police say 30-year-old Maluolefale Toala was riding his longboard on the side of the road in the same direction as the car.

The two men began to fight for an unknown reason.

Police allege Pierce then got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim.

Their fight escalated and Pierce allegedly shot Toala once in the chest.

Toala was pronounced dead.

Police say Pierce stayed at the scene.

He has been booked on one count of homicide.

It was unknown Sunday if he has an attorney.
