RAINELLE, W.Va. (AP) — Authorities say two elementary school pupils in West Virginia face disciplinary action after they were found to be in possession of dangerous weapons on school grounds.
Sgt. D.A. Evans of the Rainelle Detachment of the West Virginia State Police tells the Register-Herald that the two students brought unloaded weapons to Rainelle Elementary School.
Evans says juvenile petitions will be filed against the students.
Greenbrier County Schools Superintendent Sallie Dalton says the incident was a serious violation of county and state policy, even though the students did not have any intent on using the weapons and no ammunition was brought onto school grounds.
She says no students were in danger.
