STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a student has been slashed during a fight in a campus library at Stony Brook University.
It happened shortly before 3 p.m. Friday.
Stony Brook University Police say two students were fighting in a hallway at a campus library when one student pulled out a knife and slashed the other.
They say the suspect, whose name wasn't immediately released, was taken into custody at the scene and the knife was recovered. Charges were pending Friday evening.
Assistant Police Chief Eric Olsen says the victim was slashed on his arm. His injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
