MIDLOTHIAN, Va. (AP) — More details have been released involving a deadly shooting that happened near a school bus stop in Virginia.

News outlets report the shooting occurred Thursday morning at the Mallard Cove Apartments in Midlothian. Chesterfield County Police say 17-year-old Chase Harris was shot and killed. He died at the scene.

Another teenager, an unidentified 17-year-old high school student, was shot and wounded. That teenager collapsed while running toward a school bus preparing to load children.

Chesterfield police Lt. Peter Cimbal says the 17-year-old who collapsed near the school bus was helped by parents of the students. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities believe the two teenagers had been involved in a drug deal.

The investigation continues. Police say they aren't actively looking for additional suspects.
