PROVO, Utah (AP) — A pregnant woman is recuperating with her newborn after surviving a car crash on the way to the hospital to give birth.

KUTV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1Sds9vm ) that Anay Rodriguez was being driven to Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo on Wednesday after her water broke when the vehicle clipped another car and rolled just blocks from the emergency room.

Rodriguez ended up on the top side of the car, hanging from her seatbelt. A nearby police officer saw the crash and was able to use a crowbar to break the windshield and let the laboring mother out.

Hours later Rodriguez gave birth to a healthy baby girl via C-section. Rodriguez and her boyfriend say they are grateful their "miracle baby" survived the ordeal.
