MINOT, N.D. (AP) — An alumnus of Minot State University has donated what the school says is the largest gift in its history.

The MSU College of Business announced Tuesday the $2 million gift from Clint Severson and Conni Ahart.

Severson is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Abaxis, a medical devices company based in northern California. He is also a 1973 graduate of the former Minot State College.

Severson previously donated $1 million to the school's College of Business to help create the Severson Entrepreneurship Academy. In 2007, Forbes named him their entrepreneur of the year.

The school says the new gift will endow its entrepreneurship program. It also plans to apply for a $1 million matching grant from the North Dakota Higher Education Challenge Grant Program.
