JEROME, Idaho (AP) — A Washington state man who was arrested in Idaho on drug trafficking charges last year has been indicted on a federal drug charge.

The Times-News reported Saturday (http://goo.gl/bFN6Ep ) that a federal grand jury in Idaho last month indicted 38-year-old Sergio Maldonado-Farias with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The Idaho State Police stopped Maldonado-Farias, of Monroe, Washington, in December on Interstate 84 in Jerome County. Police searched his vehicle and found about 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine.

The federal indictment was handed down Jan. 12 and an arrest warrant was issued the next day. His charges in Jerome have been dismissed.
