CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a central New York man is jailed on assault and other charges after ramming his truck into more than a dozen vehicles following a family court hearing.
Police say 45-year-old David Southwick, of Cortlandville, followed his ex-wife into the parking lot at the Cortland County Courthouse after a hearing Monday. They say he got into his flatbed truck and drove at her as she walked away from him.
Officers say Southwick missed her but purposely struck 14 vehicles and a porch on a home next to the lot. Officials say total damage exceeds $7,500.
A person in one of the vehicles suffered a minor injury.
Police arrested Southwick in the lot. He is being held in the county jail. It couldn't immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.
