NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities have identified the 16-year-old girl killed in a hit-and-run in North Las Vegas after the alleged driver was arrested in what is believed to be an alcohol-related crash.
The Clark County Coroner's office said Bobbie Grayson of North Las Vegas died in the crash about noon Tuesday.
Police said they found the driver, 28-year-old Anthony Lauria, in a nearby neighborhood after he allegedly hit the pedestrian and then fled the scene in a black Ford Fusion.
Grayson suffered major injuries as she was walking in the gutter area near the sidewalk.
Police said she died at the scene and alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
Lauria was arrested for felony DUI and failing to stop at a fatal crash.
It's unclear if he has an attorney.
