MINDEN, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a female victim is dead and a suspect was seriously injured in a gunfight with deputies during a domestic violence call in Minden.
Douglas County sheriff's officials say they were called at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday to a neighborhood in Minden and found the victim fatally shot in the street.
Deputies say they went to a home and encountered a suspect who began shooting at them. The deputies weren't hit, but the suspect was shot and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Brooks says his agency isn't releasing the name of the person who died until family members are notified.
