CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The highest-ranking member of the Nevada Legislature is endorsing Republican Marco Rubio for president.
Republican Sen. Michael Roberson announced Monday that he was supporting the Florida senator. Roberson said it was time to turn the page on the ideas of yesterday and usher in Rubio's new vision.
Roberson is seeking election to Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, which includes Henderson and Summerlin. The seat is currently held by Republican Rep. Joe Heck, who's running for the U.S. Senate.
Rubio just finished a three-day campaign swing through southern Nevada. His campaign chairman is Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison, and he's earned high-profile endorsements, including one from former Nevada Gov. Bob List.
