PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A sport utility vehicle has crashed into a trolley bus in Philadelphia, killing the SUV driver and injuring all 19 people on the bus. A passenger in the SUV has been critically injured.

Police say the crash happened Monday night in the city's Frankford section.

Investigators say the trolley bus had stopped at a stop sign. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority says the SUV rear-ended the trolley bus, a type of electric bus powered by overhead cables.

The SUV driver was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead there soon after. The injured SUV passenger has been hospitalized. The bus driver and all 18 passengers have been given medical treatment.

Police are investigating how the crash happened.
