ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — Authorities say they're leaving the search for the body of 6-year-old Tyson Lucas Black, who was swept away by floods in a small polygamous community on the border of Utah and Arizona.
The Spectrum newspaper in St. George reports (http://bit.ly/1PNB47a) searchers from Washington County and other agencies left the towns of Hildale, Utah and Colorado City, Ariz. on Tuesday. Local authorities are expected to continue looking.
Chief Deputy Shauna Jones says that volunteers and employees are sad that they haven't found the boy during multiple searches through a 10-mile stretch of mud and debris piles.
Black was with 16 women and children when a flash flood on Sept. 14 swept away the two cars they were riding in. Twelve members of two families were killed. Three young boys survived.
