LOS ANGELES (AP) — A shootout at the Los Angeles funeral for a man killed in a gang attack has left one person critically wounded.
The Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/1Q9TJdN ) says it happened shortly before noon Wednesday in the parking lot of a South Los Angeles funeral home.
A memorial service was being held for 41-year-old Kumase Jefferson, who was shot on Aug. 15 in what's believed to be an ongoing gang war in the area.
Police say Jefferson's friends and family were standing in the parking lot when gang rivals approached.
Lt. John Jenal says some mourners moved toward the gang members, who opened fire, and some mourners shot back in a running gun battle.
Some suspects drove away. But their car crashed, and police detained two people for questioning.
