PROVO, Utah (AP) — A series of pig escapes have Provo officials looking for a solution for the farm owner and his neighbors.
KSL-TV reported that dozens of pigs got out of their enclosures on Saturday and Sunday.
Farm owner Matt Baker told the Daily Herald that neighbors have been cutting locks to sabotage him. He said the incidents last weekend were the first since September when he spent $20,000 on improved fences.
Provo Police Department spokesman Lt. Brandon Post says Baker is facing a total of 94 citations. The farmer spent $1,260 Monday to reclaim 18 animals rounded up by animal control.
Neighbor Shelley Beagley says her hand was injured while she was trying to remove a 150-pound sow from her backyard garden.
Deputy Mayor Corey Norman says this is a quality-of-life issue.
