CLARKSTON, Wash. (AP) — A Clarkston man convicted of raping a woman delivering a box of food was sentenced to more than 25 years in prison.
An Asotin County judge issued the sentence Thursday for 33-year-old Zachary J. Biggs.
Prosecutors say Biggs threatened to kill the victim if she didn't go into a bedroom. Authorities say he raped her and tormented her over a three-hour period with a machete and sharpening stone.
The Lewiston Tribune (http://bit.ly/1V0vn9h ) reports that Biggs plans to appeal and says the sexual acts were consensual.
