MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says now is the time to complete a Vermont hunter education course for new hunters who haven't yet.
Officials say the courses have started and will continue for a few weeks but fewer courses will be available in October because many of the volunteer instructors will be hunting.
Passing the course is required for people who want to get their first Vermont hunting license.
Upcoming courses are listed on the Fish and Wildlife Department website at www.vtfishandwildlife.com.
