IDAHO Falls, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park has welcomed its newest animal: a baby zebra born July 17.
The Post-Register reports (http://bit.ly/1KHAV6y ) the zebra was born earlier this month and received her name — Adanna — this week. The name means "loving daughter to her father" in Swahili.
The zoo now has three zebras, including Adanna's parents. Once the baby zebra reaches sexual maturity, in two to three years, she will be moved to another zoo. Officials said that's to prevent inbreeding.
