PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona has widened another stretch of the highway that is the primary route between Phoenix and Las Vegas.

The state Department of Transportation last weekend completed the widening of the three-mile-long Antelope Wash stretch of US 93 approximately 20 miles north of Wikieup (WHIH'-kee-up).

The work included building two new southbound lanes and rebuilding the two northbound lanes.

With the additional three miles widened, US 93 has now been widened over three-quarters of its 200 miles between Wickenburg and the Hoover Dam bypass bridge.

Another project underway since February will widen a five-mile stretch just north of Wickenburg.
