HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — The retiring commanding officer of the U.S. Navy Band has been named director of bands at Marshall University.
Media outlets report Capt. Brian O. Walden will join the Marshall University music faculty in August.
A native of Trenton, South Carolina, Walden is studying in the doctoral program in music education at George Mason University. He earned a music degree from St. Leo University in Florida and a master's degree in wind ensemble conducting from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
