BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) — A judge says a 14-year-old boy accused of stabbing a classmate at a suburban Denver school poses a risk to the community and should be held in a juvenile detention center while he awaits trial.
The Broomfield Enterprise reports (http://goo.gl/3QQdNy ) Judge Francis Wasserman handed down his ruling Wednesday, saying the boy has a history of fighting at school and might have created a "kill list."
The boy is being held on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of a weapon on school grounds.
Investigators say the 14-year-old girl was stabbed in the back near a playground at Aspen Creek K-8 school in Broomfield on April 30 and was airlifted to a hospital.
Investigators haven't said what led to the stabbing.
