SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah's unemployment rate has stayed at 3.4 percent for four months in a row.

Utah's Department of Workforce Services released on Friday the state jobless rate for April, the most recent number available.

The department says about 49,700 Utah residents were out of work and looking for a job last month.

While the state's unemployment rate held steady, the federal rate dropped slightly to 5.4 percent in April. It was 5.5 percent in March.
