GRAMBLING, La. (AP) — School officials say a group of 20 Grambling State University nursing students won't receive their degrees due to violating a school policy.
The News-Star (http://tnsne.ws/1KkeFLO0) reports the students were informed by school officials they would not be able to graduate after taking their exit exam a second time. School policy says nursing students have one chance to take the exam.
Each student failed the exit exam, but was allowed to retake the test after arguing they were not properly prepared. Most of the students passed the second time.
Wednesday, the students met with school officials over graduation concerns. Officials proposed to pay for a summer course and give students an exit exam in order to receive their degrees after the course and participate in Friday's ceremony. The students haven't agreed.
