CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The clock is ticking for West Virginia high school seniors to be considered for a higher education grant to attend a state college or university.
The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission says seniors and college students have an April 15 deadline to apply.
Chancellor Paul Hill says the grant program is the largest need-based financial aid program in the state.
In the 2013-14 academic year, the Higher Education Grant Program awarded nearly $41 million to more than 19,000 students across West Virginia.
Awards are based on financial need. The grant may be renewed for up to three academic years beyond the initial award.
