TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — A University of Iowa dean has been chosen for a leadership position at the University of Alabama.
Officials said in a statement that David Grady will begin serving as vice president for student affairs on June 15. Grady currently serves as associate vice president and dean of students at the University of Iowa. Grady also served as assistant director of student life at the University of Alabama from 1985 to 1988.
UA President Judy Bonner says Grady's experience includes student activity planning, fraternity and sorority life, student union management and more. Officials say Grady also teaches graduate courses in the University of Iowa's higher education and student affairs program.
Grady is replacing Steven Hood, who was appointed interim vice president for student affairs in July 2014.
