LEHI, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a 3-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a car in a Utah neighborhood.
Police say the boy was riding a scooter on a neighborhood walk with his father in Lehi Saturday evening when he was struck by an SUV leaving a driveway.
Lehi Police Sgt. Bill Loveridge says it appears the boy turned in front of the car. He died at the scene.
Police say the death was an accident and they don't expect to file charges against the female driver. The child's name was not immediately released.
