PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — University of Southern Maine officials have narrowed it down to three finalists in their search for a new president.
The finalists announced Tuesday are Glenn Cummings, Harvey Kesselman and Jose Sartarelli.
Cummings is currently president of the University of Maine at Augusta.
Kesselman serves as provost and executive vice president at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
Sartarelli is chief global officer and dean of the College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University.
They were chosen out of a group of 80 candidates and will visit the school next month.
Former Central Maine Power chief David Flanagan became interim president in July after interim President Theodora Kalikow stepped down.
USM has grappled with financial problems and layoffs in recent months. It's the second-largest university in the system.
