LIBERTY, Miss. (AP) — Capital improvement plans to revamp ailing infrastructure at Amite County High School have been put on hold — again — and some school officials are wondering why it's taking so long.
Board president Diane Cook said the projects, which included repairs to the high school, gymnasium and auditorium roofs were long overdue.
NewPath Strategy Consultants representative Dwayne Ellis told the board earlier this month several problems have plagued them.
Ellis said only one bid had been received for the high school roof project since the board originally advertised for bids, and it was nearly double the original budget. The project was re-advertised but no others were received.
Cook expressed dismay over the situation telling the Enterprise-Journal (http://bit.ly/13Eja49 ) there's been no communication with board members.
