SUN VALLEY, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County deputies say they've arrested an 18-year-old man who reportedly tried to rob an employee at a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Day.

Deputies say they got a report at about 8 p.m. Thursday that an employee of the Panda House restaurant in Sun Valley was threatened with a knife while he was taking out the trash.

The employee told deputies that the suspect demanded money, but eventually fled on foot after the employee told him several times that he didn't have any.

Deputies say they spotted a person nearby who matched the suspect description and arrested him on suspicion of attempted robbery. He's been identified as Sun Valley resident David Calderon.

Authorities say they arrested a second man during the investigation after he tried to interfere with deputies.
