HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut couple is facing charges after the woman's 1-year-old daughter fell out of a second-story window.
Hamden police arrested 25-year-old Katelynn Ruff and 30-year-old Christopher Demange after the girl fell out of the window Wednesday night. They were arraigned Thursday in Meriden Superior Court on charges including risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct.
Authorities say the girl fell onto a cardboard box, which may have prevented more serious injuries. She was in stable condition Thursday at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Police say the girl fell after Ruff and Demange got into an argument at their home that turned physical when Ruff pushed Demange's mother.
Ruff posted bail and Demange was detained on bail. It's not clear if they have lawyers. Phone listings for them couldn't be found.
