FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) — A Frostburg high school teacher is denying an allegation he had sexual contact with a 15-year-old female student.
The Cumberland Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/1vcLT6q ) that 43-year-old Bart Mazer pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Allegany County Circuit Court to the charge of third-degree sex offense. His trial is set for March 5.
Mazer also is charged with fourth-degree sex offense involving a 17-year-old female student. He hasn't entered a plea in that case, which is set for a hearing Dec. 12.
Police say both alleged victims were students at Mountain Ridge High School, where Mazer taught math in the fall of 2013.
He is on leave from his job pending the outcome of the cases.
