LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 27-year-old woman who was shot dead on a street a block west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Clark County coroner's officials say Cassandra Rosete was the woman found lying dead on the sidewalk a little before 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
Investigators say it appears Rosete was walking on the 2600 block of Industrial Road, which is behind the Circus Circus casino.
Police say she was approached by a man, a shot was fired, and she fell to the ground. The suspect fled.
Authorities didn't immediately find the suspect and said the motive for the shooting was unknown.
