NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho man suspected of robbing prescription drugs from a Walgreens store has pleaded not guilty to charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1wxSqv8 ) Austin Howard of Nampa entered the plea on Friday.
Investigators say the 23-year-old Howard entered the Walgreens store on October 1st and demanded pills. The pharmacist handed over the prescription drugs.
Howard told police he used about half of the 100-pill bottle himself and sold the rest for about $1,000.
If convicted, Howard could face up to 10 years in prison for the burglary charge and seven years for the possession charge.
Howard will appear on Dec. 15 for a pre-trial conference. His jury trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 20.
