WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine says it will host two camps for students in grades 6-12 at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis.

Both camps will run Aug. 1-10. A junior veterinary camp for students in 6-8 will run from 9 a.m. until noon and a senior camp for students in grades 9-12 will run from 1-4 p.m.

The school says the goal of the camps is to allow participants to experience hands-on skills while learning about veterinary school and career opportunities. Veterinarians work with animals in hospitals, on farms and in zoos.

Each camp costs $25 and requires pre-registration. To register, contact Stephanie Decamp at 317-927-7566 or by email at TheBarns@indianastatefair.com.
