YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — The National Park Service says visitation to Yellowstone National Park neared the 2 million mark at the end of July. July visitation was up almost 6 percent from July 2013. July is typically the park's peak visitation month, followed in order by August, June, September, and May.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A utility's survey indicates the population of white sturgeon fish in the Snake River between a dam on the Idaho-Oregon border and another in western Washington state is holding steady. There are about 4,000 of the ancient fish in a 140-mile stretch of river between the dams. The survey is conducted by Idaho Power as part of its federal license to operate hydroelectric dams.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The owner of a new business that is re-establishing commercial scenic air tours based out of the Jackson airport says his operation will not disturb Grand Teton National Park visitors. Fly Jackson Hole owner Peter Lindell says he doesn't need to fly tour routes in the park to give people an amazing aerial tour.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Russia is the 14th largest export market for Idaho agriculture. But the recent Russian ban on food and ag imports from the West shouldn't have much of an impact on Idaho farmers. That's because about 90 percent of Idaho's exports to Russia are live animals, mainly beef cattle and dairy heifers, that aren't included in the ban.
