BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Amber Beierle and Rachael Robertson say they'll be the first in line if Idaho starts issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Friday. They've tried before, but now they have the federal court on their side after yesterday's ruling that the state's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. They were joined by their fellow plaintiffs and attorneys in front of the federal courthouse in Boise last night, celebrating the win.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Gov. Butch Otter has already said that he'll appeal any ruling against Idaho's ban on same-sex marriage. Earlier this week he notified the federal magistrate judge that if he loses the case, he may try to appeal directly to the U.S. Supreme Court, instead of going first through the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

JEROME, Idaho (AP) — A milk processing company has agreed to pay a $170,000 federal fine for sending tainted wastewater to Jerome's wastewater treatment plant. The Times-News reports that the EPA said the discharges from Idaho Milk Products could have damaged the plant. The company says it has taken steps to make sure future discharges meet standards.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Jerome woman has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for an immigration scam that defrauded more than 50 people. The Times-News reports that 40-year-old Celia Perez pleaded guilty to two counts of mail fraud in a deal with prosecutors. Authorities say Perez posed as an immigration attorney handling difficult cases.
