ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) — A new acting president has been appointed at Enterprise State Community College in south Alabama.

Alabama Community College System Chancellor Mark Heinrich on Thursday appointed Cynthia Anthony as acting president of the college based in Enterprise. Anthony has been dean of students at Lawson State Community College.

The Dothan Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1dwhGYx) that Anthony takes the place of former president Nancy Chandler, who resigned a few weeks ago after being placed on administrative leave.

The college system has declined to comment on the reasons for Chandler's departure.
