CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Developers are seeking a special use permit for a 10.5-acre project featuring a 10-story hotel and multi-story office structures in Carson City.

Carson City Development LLC wants to build the Carson City Capitol Mall on property near the Carson Nugget casino.

The Nevada Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/1JU9Qt2 ) the project includes a technology conference center and offices, retail space and public plazas and amenities.

Plans call for 421,200 square feet of office floor space, 61,200 square feet of retail space, 150 hotel rooms, and four- and eight-story parking garages to handle 1,600 vehicles.

The land being eyed for the development is mostly held by the property arm of the Hop & Mae Adams Foundation, which formerly owned and operated the Carson Nugget.

It still owns the Nugget building, but the casino now is operated by another firm.
