WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (AP) — Federal officials in northern Nevada are seeking applicants for 2015 summer season wildland firefighter and on-call dispatcher positions.
The Bureau of Land Management says applications for Desert Basin Zone fire and aviation programs are available online. The first deadline date is Jan. 13.
The zone includes the Winnemucca and Battle Mountain districts.
The Winnemucca district staffs the Central Nevada Interagency Dispatch Center and 12 fire engines at stations in Winnemucca, McDermitt, Paradise Valley and Lovelock and.
The Battle Mountain district staffs five engines in Battle Mountain and Eureka
Applicants must be U.S. citizens 18 years of age or older, and must complete a physical examination, drug screening and a timed three-mile hike with a 45-pound pack.
Applications must be submitted online at www.usajobs.gov .
